The line outside the Apple store in Center City was quickly growing early Friday as tech enthusiasts gathered for the release of the highly anticipated foldable iPhone.
People began lining up at 16th and Walnut streets hours before the Apple store was set to open at 8 a.m., eager to get their hands on the latest iPhone Duo — a foldable device with a display that is 80% larger than that of the iPhone 18 Pro.
On Sept. 1, the company’s new CEO, John Ternus, introduced the iPhone Duo, which he described as having the the “largest display ever on an iPhone, yet fits into your pocket.”
The Duo also lets users split the screen to use two different apps on the device, or two windows the same website for things like comparison shopping.
The Duo starts at $1,999.
